Does Singer Frankie Valli Lip Sync His Songs On Stage Instead Of Live Singing? Health Update & More

Frankie Valli is the lead singer of the Four Seasons band and is mainly known for his powerful lead falsetto voice. With the band, the lead singer has achieved 29 top 40 hits.

Valli was born on May 3, 1934, to his father, Anthony Castelluccio, and his mother, Mary Rinaldi. He was raised in First Ward of Newark, New Jersey, along with his two brothers. His father was a display designer for Lionel model trains and a barber, and his mother was an employee at a beer company.

When his mother took him to see Frank Sinatra at Paramount Theatre in Manhattan, New York City, Valli knew that he wanted to become a singer while growing up.

As a solo artist Valli has achieved nine top 40 hits and number one hits with his songs Grease and My Eyes Adored You.

The members of the Four Seasons, Bob Gaudio, Tommy De Vito, Nick Massi, and Valli, were a part of the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

The singer has made headlines for lip-syncing during his recent shows.

Does Frankie Valli Lip Sync?

Valli was caught lip-syncing to his song in a viral TikTok video. The video was originally posted by Craig Cady, a touring singer who was on stage with Valli. He was seen barely moving his lips to his song Grease.

There were many comments on the video; the viewers made jokes about Valli’s performance being similar to Chuck E. Cheese robotics and asked him to retire from the road. They also noticed that his voice sounded youthful and commented that the vocal track was likely to be auto-tuned.

The video was later deleted from Craig’s TikTok account.

This wasn’t the first time that Valli was accused of lip-syncing; videos on YouTube speculate that he started to lip sync in 2006.

Many fans supported him as they commented that he was 88 years old, and at that age, it is not easy to sing perfectly as he used to. Valli has also suffered from a severe health issue.

Frankie Valli Health Update

Valli suffered from serious health issues back in October and November of 2021. He suffered from pneumonia and had to cancel his tours. Many believed that he would not tour again.

Later he informed his fans that he was getting better after a couple of rounds of antibiotics, and his doctors have suggested he rest for some months before touring again.

The shows scheduled for April 8 to April 10 this year were also rescheduled as he had to undergo an elective tear duct surgery.

Valli has returned and has started touring again; the tour began on May 13, 2022, and will end on December 10, 2022.

Frankie Valli’s First Wife and Children

Valli was married to his first ex-wife Mary Mandel; the former couple married in 1957. Mandel had a daughter named Celia Sabin Selleck before she married Valli, and he raised her as his own kid.

They also had two daughters, Toni and Francine Valli. Their marriage ended in 1971, and sadly, in 1980, Mandel died due to a fall accident.

After his divorce from Mandel, he was in a relationship with Mary Ann Hannagan. They knew each other since 1972, and after two years, in 1974, they married. But they got separated in 1982.

In 1984 he met Randy Clohessy and married her in the same year. They were blessed with three children, Francesco and twins Brando and Emilio. The couple got divorced in 2006.

Frankie Valli’s Net Worth

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Valli has an estimated net worth of $80 million.

He has collected his wealth from his music career, and he also earns royalties from the Broadway play Jersey Boys, which has grossed nearly $3 billion worldwide.

He started his career with the Variety Trio, which included Tommy De Vito, Nick Macioci, and Nickie De Vito, in the early 50s. They offered him a guest spot in one of their performances when the group had heard him signing.

His powerful falsetto is the signature sound behind the hits songs by Four Seasons. Frankie debuted as a solo artist in 1967 with his song Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, which reached number 2.

Valli released an album including covers of his favorite songs from the 1960s in 2007. He debuted on Broadway with a long-week concert series at the Broadway Theatre in New York in 2012.

From March 2016 to January 2017, Valli and Four Seasons toured the US, playing in small to mid-size venues.
