Who Is Gan Teik Chai’s Wife?

James Gan Teik Chai, a renowned Malaysian badminton player, graced the world from February 5, 1983, to August 5, 2023. He etched his name in the annals of badminton history when he and Koo Kien Keat clinched the men’s doubles championship in the 2004 French International tournament. Subsequently, in 2009, he tasted success in the Australian Open Grand Prix, where he paired with Tan Bin Shen. His winning streak continued in the 2012 BWF International tournament in Brazil, Argentina, and Mauritius, while partnering with Ong Soon Hock. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) launched the BWF Superseries, a series of prestigious badminton tournaments, from December 14th, 2006, lasting until 2007. This series was categorized into Superseries and Superseries Premier. The Superseries, which started in 2011, consisted of a season of twelve international tournaments.

Fondly known as Gan among his peers, he is survived by his wife, Esther Ng, and his two sons. Tributes have been flowing in since the announcement of this former national shuttler’s untimely demise. Among them are from Datuk Lee Chong Wei and his former men’s and mixed doubles partners, Tan Bin Shen and Ng Hui Lin.
