J. B. Mauney Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

James Burton “J.B.” Mauney (pronounced “Mooh-nee”) is an American professional bull rider who competes on the Built Ford Tough Series circuit of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR). He was born on January 9, 1987, and is now a member of the PBR. He stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall and rides with his left hand. Mauney was born in the city of Charlotte, in the state of North Carolina. On his father’s side, he is descended from French ancestors. He started bull riding when he was three years old. He bought his first bucking bull when he was fifteen years old. The Mauney family lends a hand in the operation of Just Bad Bucking Bulls. The company is officially registered with the ABBI (American Bucking Bulls Industry) Mooresville, North Carolina, is the location of the company’s headquarters. Session one of the PBR Built Ford Tough Series started in 2006, and during that season he finished 25th in the global rankings and was named Daisy Rookie of the Year, among other honours. Aside from that, Mauney participated in the Championship Bull Riding (CBR) circuit, where he qualified for the CBR finals in 2005 and 2006. He began competing in the PBR full-time in 2007 and finished third behind Justin McBride and Guilherme Marchi in the overall standings that year. In 2008, he came in second place behind Marchi.  The next year, he finished in second place once again, this time behind Kody Lostroh. However, it was in the 2009 PBR World Finals that he made history by becoming the first and only man in PBR history to ride eight bulls in a single event, and he went on to win the event. Mauney rode the following bulls: Chester, Troubadour (who was named the top bull of the event at the 2007 PBR World Finals), Crosswired (who fell down; Mauney re-rode on Black Smoke), Ricky Bobby, Beer Goggles, Live Wire, Smack Down, Black Pearl, and Black Pearl. Mauney received the highest score in the finals while riding Black Pearl. From 2009 to 2011, he participated on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) circuit for a short period of time. He is one of many bull riders who grew up riding bulls while wearing a helmet; but, beginning in 2013, he began riding with a traditional cowboy hat, which is now his preferred style (with a bull rider crease).  The only bull rider to ever ride Voodoo Child, the PRCA bull of the year in 2007-08, he is also one of the most accomplished bull riders in history. Aside from that, he is well-known for being the only rider to have ridden Bones, who was the PBR bull of the year in 2008 and 2010, and Code Blue, who was the PBR bull of the year in 2009.
