Keegan Kolesar mom Corrinne Kolesar is a big fan of ice hockey.

The Columbus Dispatch in 2015 confirmed that Mrs. Koelsar played softball during college, passing her athleticism to her son.

While she is best known as the birth giver of the 25-year-old NHL player, the Oakland Riders fans are aware of her presence as the wife of K.D. Williams.

Corrinne and Keegan’s father, K.D., divorced shortly after their son’s birth, and the former later married the late MLB scout Charles Peterson.

From her son’s games in NHL to following his previous matches in his earlier leagues, from WHL, ECFHL, and AHL, Mrs. Koelsar kept updated on the sport.

When Keegan scored his first career goal for the Golden Knights against the St. Louis Blues on March 22, 2021, he had specially mentioned his mama during his public statement later that night.

8 News Now reported that the Knights star was eager to discuss his score with her after the match. 

Moreover, her Facebook and Twitter handles are mainly dedicated to Keegan’s pictures and career updates.

Keegan Kolesar Was Brought By Stepdad Charles Peterson

Keegan Kolesar stepdad Charles Peterson also comes from an athletic background.

Peterson was born in 1970 and was a promising athlete since his early days. He played as a quarterback for his high school team and was the 1992 South Carolina’s Gatorade Player of the Year.

However, Chicago Wolves reported that Keegan’s stepdad played baseball later in life before joining ice hockey. He had been the Pittsburgh Pirates’ first-round pick in the 1993 MLB draft.

He then played fourteen seasons of minor-league baseball before his retirement in 2006. From 2002 to 2003, he played for the Winnipeg Goldeyes in the independent Northern League.  After he bid farewell to ice hockey, Peterson was a scout for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Regarding Keegan and Charles’s relationship, the two had met as a family in 1998, a year after his biological parents called off their wedding.

Since then, the two have shared a close bond while living in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Charles also remained an influencing figure in Keegan’s ice hockey career as a mentor.

He is widely referred to as Keegan’s dad rather than his stepdad, indicating that Charles remains a big part of the latter’s life. However, Corrinne and her second husband also parted ways in 2012. 

Sadly, the former Kansas City T-Bones player passed away on September 13, 2020, due to Covid-19. According to Global News, Keegan had opted out of the Knights’ playoffs elimination at the Stanley Cup Playoffs to attend his funeral.

During his end moments, Charles worked as an assistant coach for the Spring Valley High School football team.

Keegan Kolesar Biological Father Is KD Williams

Kolesar birth father is Kevin Dewayne Williams Sr who is a former linebacker.

Williams’ playing career started in 1995 when he joined Winnipeg Blue Bombers the following year. In 1997, he played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

In the upcoming years, this football powerhouse played with various teams around Canada, including Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 1997, Frankfurt Galaxy in 1998, Oakland Raiders in 1999, Green Bay Packers from 2000 to 2001, rejoined Saskatchewan Roughriders again in 2002, and finally, Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2002.

Aside from his glorious football background, the Raiders confirm that K.D. was a former airport Skycap when he joined the team.

Meanwhile, Hockey Canada reported in 2016 that this father and son were not on good terms due to the former’s divorce from Corrinne. After being aloof for fifteen years, they had only reconciled that year.
