Abrams is the owner of KrateD LA, which is a styling service for professionals looking to invest in their personal brand. She has been in the industry for over two decades and has worked for several companies before establishing her own.

She had worked as creative director and director of visual merchandising at AGACI for more than ten years. From October 2005 to December 2008, she worked as a senior field visual manager at Wet Seal LLC.

She was recruited as a regional visual merchandising manager at Burberry; she served at the company for around three years. She had also worked for Tommy Hilfiger as an assistant visual merchandiser.

In 2014, she received the VMSD Designer Dozen Award.

Her Mother Is A Former Singer Dancer and Actress

Abram grew up watching her mother perform, as she is a singer, dancer, and actress. To pursue her career and the dream of performing on Broadway, Khalika’s mother left the house in her 20s.

She had realized her ambitions and had a steady stream of nightclub gigs, studio work, and arranging songs for the likes of Aretha Franklin. When Abrams was young, she helped her mother with outfits during her performance.

Abrams hasn’t shared many details about her mother, including her name. However, she has mentioned her mother-in-law, Chrystal Ellis, on Instagram. According to Ellis’ Instagram bio, she is a Usui Reiki Master and has a master’s degree in science in general psychology and an MA in science in leadership.

On the other hand, her husband Van Lathan is 42 years old. She was born in New York. It has been 15 years since she resided in Los Angeles. While she was growing up, she and her family moved around a lot.

Because her family moved frequently, she had attended nine different schools prior to high school. Eventually, when Khalika was around 15 years old, she was homeschooled along with her sister.
