Jonathan Ullrich, the Principal of Longview Elementary School, spent the balance of the school year on vacation at the Williamson County School District’s central office.

On Monday, county education officials told parents of Spring Hill elementary school children that the longstanding Principal would be relocated for the rest of the school year. Ullrich’s relocation was in the greatest interest of the district, according to Superintendent Mike Looney.

According to the letter issued to him, he may return to the classroom to teach when school begins in August at a location to be selected. Bronwyn Rector, an assistant Principal, served as temporary Principal until a permanent successor was found.

The transfer results from an inquiry into charges that Ullrich violated the district’s anti-harassment policy by making offensive remarks to a staff member. Mobile Patrol also arrested him.

He was suspended without pay for three days and will have to undergo harassment and sensitivity training.

It was discovered that Ullrich made sexual remarks to one or more female employees. This behavior was not permitted, according to Looney’s letter. Mr. Ullrich should also be reminded that retaliating against anyone who has filed a complaint or cooperated, or participated in the inquiry is not appropriate.

Ullrich took over as Principal of Longview Elementary School in 2007 and has since led the school, which educates children in prekindergarten through fifth grade.
