Soren was the face of MTV’s Choose or Lose campaign at 23 years old, whose goal was to encourage young people to take part in electing their leaders to vote. For her bigger efforts with the marketing brand, she was given the Peabody award in May 1992. Soren started brooding about the gunk on her screen while reading an e-book throughout a flight in 2012 and found out the frenetic marks reflected the chaos she encountered online. She says as i quote, “I sometimes have so many windows up on my computer display that I can’t find the one I’m searching for, or I stumble upon an Amazon cart that I never without a doubt hit the buy or a calendar entry where I meant to check the time but an email popped up,” she says. “I felt like the ones gestures pondered that push and pull.”
Meggan Gould explored this idea with a challenge of the identical call in 2014, scanning clean screens to focus on the smudges and smears. Soren takes a strange approach by choosing a random link from her browser records or pulling up an image of a cat to provide a background, takes a screenshot and shoots it with a large display camera.
