The Originals Siblings Mikaelsons In Order From Oldest to Youngest

Freya Mikaelson is the oldest original vampire sibling in The Originals. The Mikaelson siblings in order from oldest to youngest are discussed here.

The CW television network picked up The Originals, an American fantasy-drama television series, for their fall 2013 schedule after a backdoor pilot for the series was aired as an episode of The CW series The Vampire Diaries in April 2013.

The Originals is a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, sharing similar themes and depictions of reality as its predecessor. “The Originals,” Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah, are the focus of the show as the first vampires in history who are also siblings.

The Originals is set in the vibrant and colorful city of New Orleans, adding a unique flavor to the series. The show was created by the talented Julie Plec.

The Mikaelson Family is an ancient and powerful family of witches and vampires that dates back to the late 10th century in the Kingdom of Norway.

In the 11th century, the Mikaelson family was mortal until their youngest child, Henrik, was killed by a werewolf. This tragedy prompted Esther and Mikael to use Esther’s magic to turn Mikael and their remaining living children into the world’s first vampires, from whom all vampires originated.

The Original vampires are some of the most powerful supernatural beings in the world. However, the Mikaelson family is also unique in that it has members who are not only vampires but also witches and hybrids.

Who Is The Oldest Original Vampire Sibling

The oldest Vampire Sibling in the Originals is Freya Mikaelson. Freya was born in late 972 to Mikael and Esther Mikaelson.

Freya is around five years older than Elijah and 9 years older than Klaus.

In human years, Freya is only 32 years old, because she slept for 100 years when she was 31. Freya was promoted to the main character on The Originals from a recurring character.

According to Esther, Mikael cherished her above all else. In Wheel Inside the Wheel, it was revealed that Esther made a deal with Dahlia, her aunt, who used magic to enable the infertile Esther to have children of her own, resulting in her birth.

However, Dahlia demanded that Esther pay for this magic by giving her first-born child, Freya, as well as the first-born child of each of her subsequent children as long as her lineage survives. To conceal the truth, Dahlia made Esther lie to Mikael upon his return from battle, claiming that Freya had died from the plague.

After the death of their firstborn, Esther, Mikael, Freya’s brother Finn, and their newest baby Elijah relocated to a “mystical land” where they were informed by a witch that the residents possessed the gift of perfect health, increased strength, and speed.

But, Dahlia saved Freya’s life so she could use her to create a new type of power. She put Freya to sleep for 100 years to keep her young, and she would only age a year when she woke up. Freya managed to escape from Dahlia’s control and ran away from her powerful aunt.

Many years later, Freya went to New Orleans in 1914 to learn more about her family. She attended a Christmas party thrown by her siblings, disguised as her brother Kol’s date. At the party, Klaus staked Kol in front of everyone, showing his cruelty. Freya then put herself in a glass coffin in the Dowager Fauline Cottage, where she slept until she woke up on 31 December 2012.

She slept for 100 years, then woke up and found out that her sister, Rebekah, was trapped in the Asylum in the body of a young witch. She pretended to be patient and saw Rebekah’s arguments with Kindred and Cassie’s disloyalty. Freya used her magic to rescue Rebekah from the Kindred and undo the Asylum’s curse, freeing both herself and Rebekah.

Freya reunites with her brother Finn, who tells her about Hope’s life. This motivates Freya to want to kill Dahlia, who caused the deaths of her lover and son, to protect her niece.

After a long and difficult magical battle (which led to the death of both of her parents), Freya and her younger siblings finally defeat Dahlia. Freya gains the trust of her younger brothers, especially Niklaus, and moves in with them to take care of Hope as a Mikaelson sibling.

After things had been calm for a while in the supernatural community of New Orleans, Lucien Castle, Klaus’ first progeny arrived and warned of an impending war between the sidelines. This meant that Freya’s powerful magic was needed once again to keep her family safe from danger.

After a prophecy predicted the fall of her family, they were all in danger. Freya was poisoned, Marcel bit her brothers, and Rebekah was cursed. To save them, Freya cast a spell on Klaus to keep them alive like Dahlia had done for her a thousand years ago. She also made a special room for them to wait in until Hayley found cures for their problems.

The Mikaelsons Oldest To Youngest

Mikaelson siblings in order from oldest to youngest are Freya Mikaelson, Finn Mikaelson, Elijah Mikaelson, Niklaus Mikaelson, Kol Mikaelson, Rebekah Mikaelson, and Henrik Mikaelson.

The Klaus Mikaelson siblings were born between 972 and 988 AD.

The Mikaelson family had to endure such a tragedy. After the loss of their youngest sibling, Henrik, at the hands of a werewolf, the Mikaelson parents decided to turn their remaining children into vampires to protect them.

However, only five out of the seven siblings became vampires, including Finn, Elijah, Klaus, Kol, and Rebekah.

1. Freya Mikaelson

The originals siblings start from Freya, the oldest child of Mikael and Esther, and the older sister of Finn, Elijah, Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik. Freya was also the half-sister of Niklaus.

Freya was born in the year 972 AD. However, when she was only five, Dahlia took her away from her family in 977 AD.

2. Finn Mikaelson

Finn was the second child and the first son born to Mikael and Esther. Finn was born in the year 973 AD.

He was the younger brother of Freya, the older brother of Elijah, Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik, and the half-brother of Niklaus.

Finn had the closest relationship with his mother out of all his siblings. This was shown in the third season of The Vampire Diaries, where he demonstrated unwavering loyalty to his mother and believed that her intentions were pure.

It’s worth noting that Finn’s behavior and attitude were often a source of frustration for his siblings. However, he underwent a significant transformation after rekindling a relationship with his former girlfriend, Sage.

This change of heart proved to be a turning point for Finn, but unfortunately, their reunion was short-lived. In a tragic turn of events, Finn was ultimately killed by Matt Donovan in The Murder of One.

Finn was one of the few characters who escaped the destruction of the Other Side, as seen at the end of the first season’s finale. His mother, Esther, revived him and transferred his soul into the body of a formidable witch, Vincent Griffith.

In one episode, he cast a deadly curse on his brother Kol, who died in a later episode. Finn also disrupted Klaus’ attempts to unite the vampires and werewolves of New Orleans by trapping both groups in a location that drove the vampires crazy with hunger. He even tried to kill Hope to prevent Dahlia from coming to New Orleans, almost killing Elijah in the process.

Later on, he reunites with his long-lost sister, Freya, and teams up with her to prevent Dahlia from killing them all.

Unfortunately, Finn’s life comes to a tragic end when Lucien, who had transformed into the Beast, kills him. Ironically, Finn’s death brings his siblings closer together, as he makes amends with most of them before passing away for the final time, surrounded by his family.

3. Elijah Mikaelson

Elijah was the third child and second son of Mikael and Esther. Elijah was born in 978 AD.

Just as Daniel Gillies portrayed Elijah’s character in this production, he has also appeared in various movies, including Spider-Man 2.

He was the younger sibling of Freya and Finn, the older sibling of Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik, and the older half-sibling of Klaus.

He was known for being noble, honorable, moral, and compassionate, and these qualities only grew stronger after he became a vampire.

Throughout his long life, he had several romantic relationships. He had romantic relationships with Katerina Petrova, a Bulgarian girl, in the 15th century, and a witch named Celeste Dubois in the 19th century. In the 21st century, he reunited with Katerina (Katherine Pierce) before leaving to help his half-brother Klaus in New Orleans.

In season two of The Originals, Elijah and Klaus teamed up to stop Esther, Finn, and a resurrected Mikael, while confronting their own past mistakes.

In season three, Elijah worked to prevent a prophecy about his family’s downfall, but he accidentally fulfilled it by killing Marcel. Marcel later became the Beast and bit Elijah and his brother Kol, knowing it would kill them.

In season four, the Hollow resurrected herself using Elijah’s sire line magic. Freya saved Elijah’s soul in a pendant, which was later restored to his body. In the finale, Elijah died alongside Klaus when his brother sacrificed himself to destroy the Hollow.

4. Niklaus Mikaelson

Klaus was Esther’s fourth child, fathered by a werewolf named Ansel, and Mikael was his stepfather. Niklaus was born in 982 AD.

Klaus Mikaelson siblings are Freya, Finn, Elijah, Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik. Klaus is the younger half-brother of Freya, Finn, and Elijah, and the older half-brother of Kol, Rebekah, and Henrik.

He is the first and only werewolf to become a vampire-werewolf hybrid through magic instead of the blood of a hybrid. He is considered the most feared and powerful Original vampire. Additionally, he was described as impulsive, reckless, adventurous, and a risk-taker during his mortal life.

5. Kol Mikaelson

Kol is the fifth child of Esther and the fourth child of Mikael. Kol was born in 983 AD.

Freya, Finn, and Elijah are his older siblings, while Rebekah and Henrik are younger. He is also the younger half-brother of Niklaus. He was a confident and outgoing person with a charming and daring personality.

Kol was the family’s black sheep and felt like his siblings didn’t like him as much as they liked Marcel. This made him act out violently as a way to get attention.

He helped his family defeat Esther and Mikael and pursued a relationship with Davina Claire. Finn hexed Kol with a deadly spell and he died for the second time in front of his family and girlfriend. Rebekah promised to bring him back.

In Heart Shaped Box (the thirteenth episode of the third season of The Originals) Davina poisoned herself and cast a suspension spell to see Kol in the Ancestral Plane to confirm if a spell could resurrect him. Kol tried to lie to protect her from the spell’s consequences. Davina realized Kol’s deception and fled with his help.

In Behind the Black Horizon, Davina successfully resurrects Kol in his true form as an Original Vampire. Kol tells Davina that her spell brought him back to his true form. After receiving a daylight ring from Davina, Kol is reunited with his siblings but received a cold welcome from Finn and Rebekah who was daggered for her safety after being afflicted by the Cursed Stake.

In The Bloody Crown, Marcel uses his toxic werewolf bite on Kol and Elijah as revenge for Davina’s death. Freya saves them by putting them in stasis using a spell Dahlia cast. They are linked to Klaus’ lifeforce and their minds are in a Chambre de Chasse until they wake up.

In season four, Kol is cured of Marcel’s bite and goes to France with Rebekah. After Elijah’s temporary death, he returns to New Orleans and finds that The Hollow has brought Davina back to life. When The Hollow possesses Hope, Kol and his siblings use themselves to separate the Hollow’s spirit. Kol then leaves for San Francisco. Seven years later, it is revealed that he and Davina are married.

6. Rebekah Mikaelson

Rebekah is the sixth child and the second daughter of Esther and the fifth child of Mikael. Rebekah was born in 984 AD.

She is the younger sister of Freya, Finn, Elijah, and Kol, the younger half-sister of Niklaus, and the older sister of Henrik. She is the sole female original vampire and is characterized as gorgeous, easy-going, daring, and independent, although she can be hot-headed at times.

Rebekah shares a complex yet intimate bond with her older half-brother Niklaus and has a warm, affectionate relationship with Elijah.

She always prioritizes her human life aspirations, which is evident in her various romantic relationships, including ones with Stefan Salvatore, Marcel Gerard, and the vampire hunter Alexander.

Klaus made Rebekah’s dream of becoming a human reality by getting her the Cure in Mystic Falls. Rebekah and Marcel got engaged and left New Orleans, with Marcel giving control of the city back to the witches.

7. Henrik Mikaelson

Mikael and Esther had seven children, and Henrik was the youngest. Henrik was born in 988 AD. He is the younger half-brother of Niklaus and the younger brother of Freya, Finn, Elijah, Kol, and Rebekah.

Klaus brought Henrik to watch the werewolves transform, but one of them lost control and killed him. This tragedy led Mikael and Esther to turn their children into the Original vampires to ensure their safety.

The Mikaelson Family Tree

Michaelson family tree in order is explained in a chart below to explain all the members and their connections.

These original vampires were created by Esther at Mikael’s request, and she also made the Hybrid Niklaus.

Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Freya, and Henrik were granted immortality by their parent’s blessing. Since then, they have all had many descendants, though the exact number is unknown.

Klaus Mikaelson and Haley gave birth to a daughter named Hope Mikaelson. There is another spinoff fully based on her story on Legacies portrayed by actress Danielle Rose Russell.
