Born in Hollywood, California, Tony Dow was originally focused on a career in diving, and was a Junior Olympics champion. He was cast in the role of Wally Cleaver on “Leave It To Beaver” in 1957, and shifted his focus to acting. He appeared on the show until it ended in 1963. He then went on to guest-star on a number of shows, including, “My Three Sons”, “Dr. Kildare”, and “Never Too Young”. He took some time off in the late 60s to serve in the National Guard, and then returned to acting, appearing in such projects as “Adam-12”, “Love American Style’, “The Hardy Boys”, and “Emergency”. In the mid-70s, he returned to school, studying filmmaking and journalism. Since the mid-80s, he has focused primarily on writing, directing, and special effects. He wrote and directed episodes of such series as, “Coach”, “Crusade”, and “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”, as well as serving as visual effects supervisor on “Babylon 5”.
