What does RKO stand for?
RKO stands for Real Knockout or Randy Knockout. It is a variation of the cutter. The move sees the wrestler jumping towards the opponent, grabbing the opponent’s head in a three quarter face lock parallel to the ground, and then slamming the opponent’s face to the mat in a cutter.
The move was originated by The People Power, former WCW superstar, John Laurinaitis playing by his then ring name, Johnny Ace. Laurinaitis hit the First RKO, which was also known at the time as Ace Crusher. He gave numerous Ace Crushers to fellow wrestlers.
RKO also stands for Randy Keith Orton, but most connotations take place via the finisher that Orton has made so popular.
Randy Orton can give RKO out of nowhere, which makes it more special because The Viper is ferocious and fast when it comes to RKO.
