Moreover, behind his success as a head coach in college basketball is all his hard work for years. According to Wikipedia, he worked as an assistant coach at Laguna Blanca School in Santa Barbara, California, from 2007 to 2009.

Then, he joined Eastern Washington University’s men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in 2009, working under Kirk Earlywine. And, after working more almost a decade, he was promoted to head coach. 

However, he only worked as a head coach for three years before leaving for Portland Pilots in 2021.

He was appointed to head coach at Eastern Washington on March 29, 2017. He replaced Hayford, who departed to become the head coach at Seattle University. Moreover, on March 22, 2021, it was announced that Legans would take over as head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers.
