Iga Swiatek was born in Warsaw, Poland, to Tomasz and Dorota Swiatek. Tomasz, her father, was an Olympic rower who competed in the men’s quadruple sculls for Poland at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

Her mother, on the other hand, pursued a very different career path in medicine. Iga has an older sister named Agata. Her sister used to be a swimmer, but she later switched to tennis.

Iga further said that she bought a tennis racket solely for the purpose of one day defeating her sister.

This 21-year-old has already made her country proud by becoming the first Polish player to win a Grand Slam. She has been consistently playing tennis for a long time.
