Jeffery Shaun King grew up in Versailles, Kentucky after being born in Franklin, Kentucky. King received his master’s degree in history from Arizona State University in 2018.

Despite the fact that his birth certificate names Jeffery Wayne King as his father, King stated in 2015 that his actual biological father is a light-skinned Black man.
